Making Room for Peace is a design studio that specializes in interior styling and decluttering.
Based in Virginia, our team has worked on a number of projects including both commercial and residential, as well as some renovation. After meeting with our clients, we work to create custom floor plans, elevations, and rendered sketches that reflect not only our client’s style but how they live.

Our calming presence brings peace into the spaces that we work in, as we take the time to listen and to get to know our clients. Through our attention to detail, we are able to create spaces that not only reflect our client’s style but how they live.
We believe in using every part of our client’s story but also encourage them to let go of the things that are no longer serving them. We want their space to be one that reflects not only where they’ve been, but where they are and where they are headed next. We do this by helping them to reflect on their core values, and by being intentional about what they have in their home.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A CONSULTATION?
During our Consultation we meet at your home/project site to get to know one another, take notes, measurements and photos. We actively listen to your design goals, assess your needs and make a list of what we hope to achieve.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A DESIGN MEETING?
During our Design Meeting we will present you with the design of your space! This includes physical and electronic copies of: mood-boards, floor plans and elevations to-scale, renderings, and product selection. A spreadsheet of pricing and quotes will also be provided. Our goal is to walk you through the design of your space, casting vision for and providing clarity for what your space can be.

HOW DO YOU BILL?
We bill for all product ordered and we bill by the hour for our time spent on the project, including: designing, sourcing, workroom pick-ups and deliveries, site visits, vendor meetings, installations, and travel. Invoices are provided to the client via email at the end of the month, and may be paid via cash or check, made out to Anna Eskridge. For past-due invoices, a 10% fee will be added.

We enjoy shopping at a variety of stores including: antique stores, big box stores, online, as well as custom shops.
ARE THERE ANY RETURNS ON CUSTOM ITEMS?
We do not offer returns on custom items.
WHAT HAPPENS ON INSTALL DAY?
The MRFP team will arrive at your home/project site on Install Day to bring your design to life! On this day we will make the final placement of all items including furniture, area rugs, decor, lighting, etc. as well as style your space. It is our preference for our team to have the space to work without distractions or interruptions. We want you to enjoy the big reveal!
WHAT DO YOU ORDER VS. WHAT I ORDER?
The majority of the items sourced will be ordered by the client. Our SPECS sheet will make the process a bit easier by providing everything you need to know for ordering (color, # to order, etc.). MRFP will pickup a few decor pieces here and there that will be brought in on Install Day.
